Word Processors: Stupid and InefficientWord Processors: Stupid and Inefficient. Yeah, that's a little polemical. Also pretty much true. He argues for separating composition from typesetting and the resulting increase in power; specifically, he advocates using TeX. Found via an article on applications for a workflow that produces formal academic papers. The latter article, incidentally, was clearly set using TeX. It is also, incidentally, the first PDF I have read that had a correct, working link back to a web page. Coincidence? There's no such thing.
